BARDSTOWN, Ky. - Women's golf coach Lindsay Hines was looking for more consistency, but three 85s and an 87 left the Lady Tigers in third place after Day 1 of the St. Catharine College Fall Invitational at Bardstown Country Club at Maywood.
Katie White (42-43), Meleigha Pollock (43-42) and
Kayla Kincer (41-44) each carded an 85 and
Lauren Goodin shot an 87 for CU's 342 team total.
That number trails tournament leader, Lindsey Wilson, by 32 shots and runner-up, University of the Cumberlands, by 29.
McLane Farr, playing as an individual, shot 88; Lindsey Jones-Harris a 92; and
Joy Carter a 96.
Amy Cline withdrew.
Tournament leader, Laura Beth Harris, shot a Cumberlands' school record 68. Lindsey's Kaitlin Allana dn Paola Gonzalez fired 75s.
Nine teams competed on the women's side. CU has a 12-shot lead over fourth place Kentucky Wesleyan and is 17 shots better than Asbury.
Team finish: Lindsey Wilson, 310; Cumberlands, 313; Campbellsville, 342; Kentucky Wesleyan, 356; Asbury, 361; Brescia, 369; Pikeville, 376; Georgetown, 379; and St. Catharine, 388.
Day 2 gets under way at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday with a shotgun start.
