PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. -- Campbellsville University climbed one spot and finished fifth in the inaugural National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Women's Golf Invitational at the Hombre Golf Club on Tuesday.
Katie White shot an 81 Tuesday to finish with an eighth-place score of 163. Caitlyn Wilkerson, who sat out the first round Monday due to injury, returned to competition Tuesday to shoot an 83 for Campbellsville, helping to cut the Lady Tigers' team score by 10 strokes from the previous day. Meleigha Pollock shot 86 and 89 in her two rounds, while Kayla Kincer shot 93-90 and Lindsey Jones-Harris shot 92-96.
Dallas Baptist won the inaugural tournament with a 10-stroke lead over California Baptist. Both were tied Monday with a first round score of 325, but DBU shot 317 on Tuesday and the CBU Lancers shot 327. Lancer golfer Nicollette Gino received low medalist honors for the tournament though, beting out DBU's Celsey Sills by three strokes.
Bethel (Ind.) remained in third-place with a score of 666, while Colorado Christian (351-342) jumped into fourth and Campbellsville shot 353-343 to finish fifth at 696. North Greenville University added 25 strokes to its score to shoot 340 and 365 to finish in sixth-place. Trevecca Nazarene (724) and Malone University (726) round out the eight-team field.
The tournament concludes the Lady Tigers' fall schedule. A spring schedule will be announced in early November.
