McDERMOTT, Ohio -- Campbellsville University Lady Tiger golf sits 16 strokes out of first-place after day one of its Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament title defense. CU shot 335 in the first round Thursday at Elks Country Club outside Porstmouth, Ohio.
Lindsey Wilson College shot 319 in the opening round with three ladies in the Top 4 individually. University of the Cumberlands is second, six strokes off the lead, as Laura Beth Harris leads the pack with a first-round 76. Campbellsville follows 10 strokes behind Cumberlands, led by
Katie White's 81 and
Caitlyn Wilkerson's 82.
Meleigha Pollock shot 84 in the first round for CU and sits tied for 11
th place, while Lindsey Jones-Harris and
Lauren Goodin shot 88 and 89 on the par 74 course.
Play will resume Friday morning for the final round of the fall tournament. Campbellsville won the 2010 fall tournament in Columbia, Ky., and has shared the Mid-South Conference regular season championship the past two years, which is decided by a team's overall finish in both the MSC Fall Tournament and MSC Spring Tournament.
