Tigers shut out West Virginia Tech, 3-0

Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville University tallied its second shutout of the season Friday, as the Tigers returned home to Finley Stadium with a 3-0 victory over West Virginia University's Institute of Technology.

Casey Clarke wasted little time, putting the Tigers on the board in the 15th minute off a Pontus Yngve assist. He found the net again in the 68th minute for his eighth goal of the season, tying his single-season high from 2010.

Adam Fridell had the second CU goal in the 31st minute.

The Tiger defense allowed only six shots in the game, while Campbellsville racked up 13. Kyle Thomas had three saves in goal for CU. Tech goalkeeper Ryan James stopped five of the shots he faced.

The win moves Campbellsville University to 3-0 in fall sports against WVU Tech this week, with the volleyball team sweeping Tech in three sets Monday afternoon and the women's soccer team winning 6-3 earlier Friday.

CU (4-6-2) will return to action Tuesday, Oct. 11, hosting Mid-Continent University at 6 p.m. ET in Finley Stadium.
