PRESTONBURG, Ky. -- Campbellsville University won its second straight Mid-South Conference regular season women's golf title Tuesday, but was forced to share it after finishing third in the MSC Spring Tournament at the Stone Crest Golf Club.
Campbellsville entered the day in second place and three strokes ahead of Lindsey Wilson College. A Top 2 finish would guarantee the Lady Tigers full ownership of the MSC regular season title, but Campbellsville's scores shot high on the rain soaked course, as LWC moved into second place.
The MSC regular season title is decided by combining the results of the MSC Fall Tournament, which CU won by a playoff against LWC, and MSC Spring Tournament.
Lauren Goodin led the way for the Lady Tigers, shooting 155 to tie for first-place with Laura Beth Harris of University of the Cumberlands. Harris won a playoff to claim low medalist honors.
Kaela Smith shot 84 on Tuesday to finish second among Campbellsville golfers with a two-day score of 169 (85-84).
Katie White inflated her score by seven strokes Tuesday, shooting 90 and was third on the team with a score of 173.
McLane Farr followed with a 175 (88-87) and Meliegha Pollock shot 178 (88-90).
Jordan Johnson competed as only an individual and shot 92 on Monday and 95 Tuesday.
Campbellsville travels to Southbend, Ind., April 15-16 to compete in the Bethel Invitational at Blackthrone Golf Club.
