PRESTONBURG, Ky. -- Campbellsville University held steady in fourth-place Tuesday in the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament at Stone Crest Golf Club. The Tigers shot 321 in the second round Tuesday after shooting 326 Monday. Campbellsville entered the day only two strokes behind Georgetown College for third place, but Georgetown shot 317 to keep the standings as they were entering the day.
Quinn Cole led Campbellsville with a 10th place individual finish, shooting 77 and 83 in his two rounds. Logan Griffin wasn't far behind, shooting 81 both days to finish tied for 15th along with Scott Foster who had the Tigers' lowest score of the second round with a 77. Foster shot 85 Monday. Cory Prewitt also finished in the Top 20 for Campbelsville, shooting 85-80. Trey Shirley was the fifth score on the Tigers’ team, shooting 83-83 in the tournament. In addition to the Tigers’ Top 5, Brandon Collier competed unattached and shot 78-90 for CU.
The low medalist honor went to University of the Cumberlands' Fredrik Lindblom, who held off teammate Aaron Watkins by two strokes. Lindblom shot 69 on Monday and 74 Tuesday to finish -1 for the tournament.
Cumberlands won the tournament by 36 strokes with a two-day combined score of 595. The win gave the Patriots the MSC regular season championship. Lindsey Wilson shot 631 to finish second in the tournament and third in the season. Campbellsville and Georgetown tied for third-place in the regular season standings, which combine the results of the MSC Fall Tournament and MSC Spring Tournament.
Campbellsville will return action April 25-26 in the Mid-South Conference Championship at Maywood Country Club in Bardstown, Ky.
