Lady Tiger battle wind to finish second on first day of MSC

BARDSTOWN, Ky. - Lady Tiger golfers braved damp and windy conditions at Bardstown Country Club at Maywood on Monday and sit in second place in the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament, 11 strokes off the pace set by Lindsey Wilson (331).



Elizabethtown senior Kaela Smith fired an 81 (42-39) for CU to tie for first-day medalist with Lindsey Wilson's Kelsey Joslyn, who shot 44-37.

Campbellsville (342) is two shots clear of University of the Cumberlands.

McLane Farr, playing at No. 4 for the Lady Tigers, shot 83 (41-42), and Lauren Goodin ( 44-45) and Katie White (48-41) shot 89s. Meleigha Pollock had a 95 and Amy Cline, playing as an individual, shot 92.

The second round of the tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, but weather forecasts don't look favorable.

Team standings: Lindsey Wilson (331), Campbellsville University (342), University of the Cumberlands (344), Georgetown College (386), St. Catharine (440).
