GEORGETOWN, Ky. - Campbellsville's women put a three-hour rain delay behind them, with two players tied for third, and go into the second day of the Bluegrass Fall Classic trailing Lee University by 19 shots.
Played at Cherry Blossom Golf Course,
Caitlyn Wilkerson (38-42) and
Katie White (39-41) fired nearly identical 80s and trail Lee's Genadra Almeida by four shots in the individual finish. Almeida shot 35-41 for her 76. Lee teammate, Courtney Shelton, was in second place at 78 (39-39).
The Lady Tigers were 38 shots clear of third-place Georgetown. Asbury and Pikeville held down the fourth- and fifth-place slots.
Filling out Campbellsville's 335 total were
Kayla Kincer, 87 (42-45); and
Jordan Johnson, 88 (41-47).
McLane Farr shot a 96 (45-51).
Lee had five golfers in the top eight to lad the tournament at 316. Other team scores included: Campbellsville, 335; Georgetown, 373; Asbury, 400; and Pikeville, 425.
