LONDON, Ky. - Campbellsville's women rest in fifth place and the men in a tie for eighth after the first round of the Bill Sergent Invitational Golf Tournament, hosted by the University of the Cumberlands.
The Lady Patriots have a stranglehold on first place. The UofC women (313) lead Lee University by three strokes with Campbellsville 42 strokes off the pace. But the Lady Tigers are just one shot out of fourth-place Milligan and five behind third-place Lindsey Wilson.
UofC's men are tied with Lee at 294, 12 shots better than the eight-place Tigers.
Campbellsville's women were led by a 12th-place finish by
Lauren Goodin (83). Other scores included:
Kayla Kincer, 85, 16th;
McLane Farr, 88, 24th; Meleigha Pollock, 89, 27th;
Jordan Johnson, 93, 31st; and
Caitlyn Wilkerson, 94, 33rd.
The men were led by
Brandon Collier's two-over-par 74, good for an 11th-place tie. Other scores included:
Trey Shirley, 76, T21;
Jacob Sims, 77, T27;
Scott Foster, 79, T46;
Ryan Flanagan, 80, T52; and
Myles Ashley, 94, 77th.
The second round gets under way tomorrow at Crooked Creek Golf Course.
