Lady Tigers fall at No. 3 Lindsey Wilson, 5-0

Box Score

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lady Tigers couldn't quite get their offense going despite the chilly weather Wednesday night at Lindsey Wilson College. Campbellsville was shut out 5-0 by the third-ranked Blue Raiders.

Senior midfielder Cassie Yannelli had the only two shots for Campbellsville in the contest. Lindsey Wilson finished with 23 total shots, 17 on goal.

Campbellsville's Brandie Hagerman finished the game with 12 saves, just two under her career high.

Yanelli's first shot came six minutes into the first half, but missed wide. Lindsey Wilson's Mia Persson found the net 10 minutes later for the first score of game.

Yanelli's second shot missed high with 20 minutes left before the break, but Lindsey Wilson's Persson found the net again three minutes later, 2-0.

Cecilia Eckstrand added a third goal for LWC before halftime, with .3 seconds left on the game clock. She added a second goal in the second half.

Persson scored her second hat trick of the season on Wednesday, extending her scoring streak to nine games. Her final goal was the final for LWC as well, coming with less than 20 minutes remaining in regulation.

Campbellsville (5-6-1) will return home Saturday in a Homecoming men's and women's double-header against Shawnee State University at 6 p.m. at Finley Stadium and Citizens Bank Field.
