CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville University men's soccer shut out the St. Catharine College Patriots, 4-0, Tuesday night at home to extend its unbeaten streak to five games.

The scoring started in first half when freshman Roraigh Yearwood played a ball into open field past a handful of St. Catharine defenders. Yearwood settled the ball, firing into the back of the net for the first goal of the contest and the only goal before the break.

Heading out of halftime, Campbellsville kept the scoring going. Junior defender John Kennedy scored in the eighth minute of the second half. Kennedy headed a Gustav Carlsson corner kick in for CU's second goal. The Patriots then elected to change goalies.

Goals three and four came from almost the exact same spot on the field, though they were spread out over a span of 17 minutes.

Redshirt freshman Andrew Nugent scored his second career goal with 26:22 left in the game. Nugent pulled from the deep corner of the field, on the far side, to rip CU's third goal into the back of the net.

With 9:38 left in the contest junior Tomas Arocha mirrored Nugent's goal, putting CU up 4-0. St. Catharine never answered.

The Patriots had only three shots on the night, in comparison to Campbellsville's 22. CU keeper Max Malachiyev finished the game with just one save.

CU head coach Adam Preston was pleased with his team's performance, but expects more come tournament time.

"We played alright tonight," Preston said. "I told them after the game that my fear is that if we get complacent in these victories, that when we play the teams that we have to beat in conference play and in tournament play, we aren't going to be the team we need to be. While it was a good win, and we did the things we needed to do, we have to be better than that."

CU travels to the University of Pikeville this Saturday at 5 p.m.
