Box Score

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville University men's soccer improved its record to 13-4-1 on Tuesday, Oct. 30, with a 5-0, cold and misty Senior Night victory over Brescia University at Citizen's Bank Field in Finley Stadium. The Tigers posted their third 12-plus win season in five years while giving Brescia its eighth loss of the season, dropping the Bearcats' record to 5-8-1 on the year.

CU recognized six seniors in the pregame ceremony held in their honor: Keegan Prince, a midfielder from Johannesburg, South Africa; Chris Craven, a defender from Lexington, Ky.; Pontus Yngve, a midfielder from Vargada, Sweden; Ramiro Sanchez, a forward from Cali, Columbia; Tomas "The Cat" Arocha, a midfielder/forward from Caracas, Venezuela; and Matthew Nanney, a member of the Tigers' junior varsity team.

Campbellsville started all five varsity seniors before scoring in the 32nd minute off of a corner kick. Yngve found the head of junior defender John Kennedy of Lochgilphead, Scotland for the first goal of the contest.

The Tigers found the net again just a minute later when freshman forward Roraigh Yearwood found the net from around 12 yards out. Campbellsville led 2-0.

Campbellsville's third goal of the contest came in the last minute of the first half, when freshman forward Camilo Roman dribbled into open space inside the box, drawing the Bearcat keeper out of the goal. Roman lifted the ball over the outreach hands of the keeper and into the back of the net for a 3-0 Tigers lead before the break.

CU did not score again until the 82nd minute when "The Cat" (Arocha) found the net from just over 9 yards out. Campbellsville scored its fifth goal a minute later when sophomore defender Adam Linderholm scored off an indirect kick taken by sophomore forward Gustav Carlsson.

Campbellsville University (13-4-1) will host Cumberland University in Mid-South Conference quarterfinal play on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 8:30 p.m. at Citizen's Bank Field in Finley Stadium.
