Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville University men's soccer lost a heartbreaker Saturday night, Nov. 3 at Finley Stadium and Citizens Bank Field. CU was host to Cumberland University in the first round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament, falling by a score of 2-1.

Cumberland scored in the 10th minute of the contest, when senior midfielder, Bradley Williams dribbled into open field and fired the ball into the back of the net.
Campbellsville finally answered back with 2:49 left to play in the first half. Freshman forward Roraigh Yearwood was taken down inside the 18-yard box by Cumberland senior keeper Sully Shattuck. Shattuck was charged with a foul and Campbellsville was awarded a penalty kick.
Senior forward Ramiro Sanchez took the penalty kick for Campbellsville, and fired it past the left side of a diving Shattuck for the Tigers' first and only goal of the evening.
The score remained tie, 1-1, heading into the break.
The Bulldogs go-ahead goal came in the 66th minute off the foot of junior defender Luke Wilson.
Campbellsville had one final chance to tie the contest up at two apiece, in the 81st minute but could not capitalize. Freshman forward Camilo Roman dribbled past two Cumberland defenders, creating space for a shot as Shattuck was drawn out of the net. Roman fired a quick uncontested shot to the upper-back post, but the ball ricocheted off the crossbar and back into play, before being cleared by a Bulldog defender.
Cumberland held on to its 2-1 lead, and advanced to the Mid-South Conference semifinals. The Bulldogs will face second-seed Lindsey Wilson College on Wednesday night in Columbia, Ky., at 8:30 p.m. EST.
The loss ends Campbellsville's NAIA season. The Tigers (13-5-1) will return to action Nov. 16-17 in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Mid-East Region Tournament, which will be hosted by the highest seeded team in the region, still to be determined. Â
