The victories improved the Lady Tigers' record to 24-12 (8-1 MSC) while Lindsey dropped to 32-8 (11-3 MSC).

"It was two great conference wins and a great effort by our entire team," said CU Coach Shannon Wathen.

Campbellsville 4, Lindsey Wilson 2

Campbellsville trailed 1-0 until two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings gave the Lady Tigers the working margin it needed.

But that's not to say it was easy.

In the top of the third, Jamie Williams' bloop single scored Chelsea Collins, who led off with a single.

The Lady Tigers dodged four errors in the game, feeding off two stellar defensive plays by Kaci Vincent and Jennifer England.

With two out and two on in the top of the third, Vincent made a go-get-'em catch in center of Andrea Wheelman's long liner. In the sixth, England threw out Collins trying to stretch a two-out single into a double.

Bailey Villender picked up an RBI in the fourth with a single. England's fielder's choice scored Dillender. In the fifth, Vincent led off with a double and took third on a bobble by Megan Huckaby in left field. Emma Napier tripled Vincent home and scored on Jordan Cornett's grounder to second.

CU dodged a two-error seventh to hold Lindsey to only one score.

Turpin (13-6) pitched all seven for the Lady Tigers, allowing six hits, walking three and fanning one. Cara Law (14-3) took the loss and was relieved by Jordan Hood with no outs in the bottom of the fifth. Hood struck out four of the seven batters she faced.

Campbellsville had seven hits to Lindsey's six. England had a double, Napier two singles and Kristin Benton and Turpin singles.

Campbellsville 8, Lindsey Wilson 6

Lindsey led 2-0 with solo runs in the second and third until CU plated three runs in the bottom of the third on two, hits, a walk and an error. Sara Paragon hit a one-out single, followed by a free pass to Kacie Vincent. Napier's double scored two and then Napier was safe at home on Jordan Cornett's sacrifice bunt.

Lindsey tied it at 3-3 in the top of the fifth on Amy Buwalda's lead-off home run.

The Lady Tigers bounced back with a three-spot in the bottom of the inning using two hits, an error and a hit batter.

Vincent was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Napier bunted and reached on a base hit. Cornett's double scored Vincent. Kristin Benton squeeze bunt hit scored Napier and another squeeze hit by Heather Oakley scored Cornett. CU was put out of the inning on a 6-3-2 double play, catching Benton trying to take home.

The Lady Raiders scored three times in the seventh to send the game into extra innings. Buwalda plated Josie Cox with her first homer of the game, a shot to deep center. Jamie Williams' two-out single scored Megan Huckaby.

Lindsey got two runners on in the eighth with a one-out single by Brittany Novickis. With two outs, Buwalda reached on a error, but then Courtney Turpin, who was in in relief of Martina Riney, struck out Travatia Bowden.

In the bottom of the eighth, Jennifer England singled to center and then Turpin lofted a two-run shot to centerfield to end the game.

Turpin got her second win of the day in relief. Taylor Wroe pitched five innings of three-hit ball, allowing three runs. She struck out five. Riney pitched an inning, getting out of the sixth on a ricochet 5-6-3 out on a hit ball by Novickis.

But Riney could not register an out in the top of the seventh, giving up a lead-off walk and then Buwalda's homer.

Lindsey and CU both had nine hits in the game, but Lindsey had three errors to CU's two. Cornett, Bailey Dillender and Napier all had doubles in the game to go along with Turpin's homer. Napier had a two-hit game.

Campbellsville will travel to Shawnee State (15-3, 7-1) in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday for a doubleheader at noon.
