Women's golf hangs on to sixth in Rome, Ga. tourney

ROME, Ga. - Meleigha Pollock was the only Lady Tiger to improve on her first-round score at Coosa Country Club, but Campbellsville still held onto sixth place in the Rome News-Tribune Invitational, hosted by Berry College.


 
Pollock shot a second-round 83, giving her a two-day total of 170. Katie White, who was tied for 13th place after the first round, shot an 85 for a 166 and lost her spot in the Top 20. Caitlyn Wilkerson shot 85-87 (172) and McLane Farr 87-90 (177) to round out the team scoring. Kayla Kincer shot 87-94 (181).

Lee University held onto first place with a 620 total, followed by Shorter, 626; and the University of the Cumberlands, 654. Lindsey Wilson finished fourth at 654.

STANDINGS: Lee, 620; Shorter, 626; Cumberlands, 650; Lindsey Wilson, 654; Young Harris, 677; Campbellsville, 685; Trevecca, 696; Union College, 701; Berry, 705; Oglethorpe, 711; Huntington, 721; Reinhardt, 724; and Truett-McConnell, 743.

The Lady Tigers will play March 12-13 at the Lee University Invitational, Cleveland, Tenn.
