Lady Tigers improve by 27 shots, but stay in third

BARDSTOWN, Ky. - Campbellsville's women shot 27 strokes better on Day 2 of the Mid-South Championship at Maywood Country Club, but could not make up enough ground to overtake Cumberlands or Lindsey Wilson  - finishing third by four shots out of second.



The University of the Cumberlands won the eight-team tournament with a two-day total of 644,  43 strokes better than second-place LWC.

CU's Katie White followed up her first-round 84 with a 79 for a 163 total, good for a fourth-place tie with Cumberland's Cristina Jimenez.

First-day medalist, Kaitlin Allen of Lindsey,  hit two balls into the water hazard on No. 16 and ballooned to a second-round  86, knocking her out of first place by eight shots to U of C's Liz Stephens (81-73/154).

Campbellsville's Caitlyn Wilkerson overcame a quadruple bogey on 16 to fire a 79, 18 strokes better than her opening-round 97. Her two-day total of 176 moved her into 12th place.

Kayla Kincer shot 93-86/179, good for 14th. Meleigha Pollock rounded out the scoring for CU with a 92-88/180 and 16th place. McLane Farr shot 90-92/182, good for a 17th place tie.

Joy Carter, Campbellsville's only senior, shot 105-101/206 in her final college tournament.
