Tigers can't improve on third at Mid-South Championship

BARDSTOWN, Ky. - Campbellsville could not improve its position on Day 2 of the Mid-South Championship at Maywood Country Club and finished third in the eight-team field.



University of the Cumberlands won the tournament with a 54-hole total of 910, 17 shots clear of second-place Lindsey Wilson and 40 strokes better than CU.

Tiger Scott Foster was low man for his team, shooting rounds of 73-75-79/226. Foster was in second place after Day 1, one shot out of the lead. He double bogeyed the first hole and finished third behind Cumberlands' Aaron Watkins (73-74-75/222) and Lindsey Wilson's Nathan Clark (75-74-78/226).

Trey Shirley's 75 was his best round of the tournament, but left him in a tie for eighth. Jacob Sims (84-91-83/258) finished in 34th place. Miles Ashley (93-82-95/270) was tied for 40th.

Team totals: Cumberlands, 910; Lindsey Wilson, 927; Campbellsville, 950; St. Catharine, 976; Georgetown, 983; Pikeville, 987; Shawnee State, 991; and Virginia at Wise, 1,025.
