Lady Tiger soccer edges Asbury University, 1-0

Box Score

WILMORE, Ky. -- Persistence payed off for the Campbellsville Lady Tiger soccer team Tuesday as it went on the road to face Asbury University. Junior forward Jessica Ralph scored the lone goal of the game in the 85th minute to give CU a 1-0 victory.

The overwhelming majority of the night proved uneventful for both teams. CU had a total of 15 shots throughout the game, five being on goal. Asbury totaled four shots on goal, none of which made it past junior goalie Brandie Hagerman. Head coach Thom Jones, had nothing but positive things to say about the outcome.

"It was a great game," said Jones. "We worked really hard and never gave up. In the last five minutes we were finally able to put the ball in the back of the net. That really shows character for my team."

The goal was Ralph's first of the season, and 23rd for her career.

The Lady Tiger's next game will be at Bryan College on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m. To follow the team, go to www.campbellsvilletigers.com
