PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – The Campbellsville University men's golf team was unable to gain ground on teams above the cut line Tuesday on Day 2 of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Championships.
The Tigers improved on their team total of 320 from Day 1 by shooting 310 in the second round.
Michael Newton fired a second round 73 to give him a two-day total of 151. That was good for a tie at 36th place.
Lukas Kvaavik and Brandon Collier both finished with two-day totals of 156. Kvaavik shot 75 on Day 2 and Collier a 76.
Cody Goodwin and Tanner Hall both had two-day totals of 167. Both shot second day 86s.
Lee University (Tenn.) jumped Dallas Baptist University to take the team lead headed into Wednesday's final round. Zach Moore of Southern Wesleyan University gave himself a four shot cushion going into the final round after a second round 69.
Tuesday's round concluded CU's fall schedule. The Tigers will resume action in the spring.
