Lady Tiger volleyball wins final road match

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Campbellsville University completed a season sweep against University of the Cumberlands with a three-set victory (25-9, 25-17, 25-22) Tuesday evening in the Lady Tigers' final regular season road match.

 



Rinata Aisena led CU with 20 kills for her third 20-kills match in the last four matches. The senior from Latvia, who was named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Student-Athlete of the Week earlier in the day, accounted for just shy of half of CU's kills in the match. She also added an ace, a solo block and a block assist.

Kelly Moyer, Jana Kortas and Daiane Souza followed Aisena's lead with nine, six and five kills, respectively, while Jackie Schwieger and Giselle Hernandez had three each.

Schwieger collected 31 assists in the match.

Caitlin Dresing led CU's defense with 16 digs, while Haley Bechtel had 12 and Schwieger had 10 for CU's only double-double in the match.

The Lady Tigers had eight aces in the win, led by Krista Mihelsone's three.

Cumberlands was paced by eight kills from both Kelsey Eastham and Megan Schulte.

Campbellsville (23-7, 13-4 MSC) will close the regular season on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. EST for a Senior Night match against Cumberland University (Tenn.).
