CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Life University's Phillip Jenkins drilled six 3s and the Running Eagles stuck a 111-103 loss on Campbellsville tonight in the Powell Athletic Center.

"I can see hitting one, maybe two, but after that you'd think we'd get out on him," said Coach Keith Adkins. "We 're in a funk and Life is a nightmare of a team to try and get out of it through."

The Running Eagles (8-5), who have beaten No. 1 Georgetown and No. 7 Pikeville, used a six-basket advantage from behind the arc to continuously apply pressure on CU (2-4, 0-2) to match baskets.

"This game is the toughest I've had to coach," continued Adkins. "They put five guys out there 6-foot-1 or smaller and their too good off the dribble.

"We did not run one set play tonight, but yet scored 103 points. You know us, we don't give up 100 points, but we have the last two games. Until we do something about that we're going to continue to struggle."

The Tigers were able to hang with Life throughout the first half, but allowed the Running Eagles to score eight of the first half's final 12 points and led at the break, 51-46.

CU tied the game at 62-all on an Eric Gaines free throw with 16:10 left in the game and actually took a 65-64 lead when Gaines hit another free toss a minute later.

Campbellsville would lead one more time, 76-74 when Kadeem Thornton hit a free throw. But Jonathan Tinch hit a 3 and Life never trailed again.

It was five-point ballgame at the 3:44 mark and the Tigers could get no closer than three points.

"I'll take a lot of the blame for where we are right now," said Adkins. "I put together a schedule I thought would be challenging and fun and it has killed us from an emotional and mental standpoint.

"All we've done is travel all across the country."
