Track teams set five school marks at NCCAA Championships

MARION, Ind. — Campbellsville runners and field participants posted five school records on the first day of the NCCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.

"As a coach all you can do is ask your kids to try and improve," said Interim Track Coach Hilary Celulko. "This is the stiffest indoor competition that we've faced. We just keep getting better and better."

FRIDAY RESULTS

Thirty-one schools are competing in the two-day event with nearly 1,000 men and women athletes composing those squads.

Keisha Chiles, a freshman from Louisville, Ky., was the first to crack the CU record book. Chiles' time of 8.06 in the 60-meter dash was good enough to best the previous school mark.

Eurodge Bargblor, a freshman from Bowling Green, Ky., also broke the 60-meter dash record for the third straight week with a 6.97 time. Bargblor was also a member of the men's 4x200-meter relay team that also set a school mark of 1:33.45. Other members of that team were: Brandon Green, freshman, Bowling Green; Bobby Mingie, freshman, Owenton, Ky,; and Blake Kennedy, freshman, Hebron, Ky.

The women's version of the 4x200-meter relay also set a school mark of 1:49.08. Members of that team included: Lauren Little, junior, Sturgis, Ky.; Kelsey Feltner, freshman, Campbellsville, Ky.; JaNaiqua Horne, sophomore, Radcliff, Ky.; and Tiosha Beasley, senior, Bowling Green.

Beasley set a school mark and finished sixth overall in the women's long jump with a leap of 5.63 meters.

Jourdan Redmon qualified for the finals in the 60-meter hurdles.

Nine men and 10 women made the trip. Other members of the team are: Clayton Embry, freshman, Morgantown, Ky.; Dylan Ford, freshman, Campbellsville; Joey Hartlage, freshman, Louisville; Brett Pierce, freshman, Edgewood, Ky.; Christiana Harris, freshman, Georgetown, Ky.; Myra Rose, sophomore, Louisville, Ky.; Kailene Allis, freshman, Norton, Ohio; Alexis Crawford, junior, Louisville, Ky.
