Lady Tiger bowlers end season at NAIA Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Campbellsville women's team wrapped up their season this past weekend, placing 16th out of the 20 teams represented in the USBC NAIA Invitational at Woodland Bowl. CU was in the winner's bracket on Saturday, but lost in the second round to Grand View University out of Iowa.

"The ladies were intense and strong competitors," said head coach John Rausch.

Campbellsville initially won its first game over Clarke University (Iowa) on Friday, but after dropping to Grand View were moved to the loser's bracket. Bethel University (Tennessee) was ultimately the team to end CU's season in the third round of the tournament. The Wildcats ended up advancing to the seventh round of the invitational.

Earlier in the month, the Lady Tigers placed 10th out of 17 teams represented in the USBC Sectional, totaling 10614 pins on the weekend.

"I am proud of our Lady Tigers who competed strong through two full days consisting of 16 hours of bowling and 64 games to finish 10th in the sectional. We were only 96 pins away from the No. 9 position held by St. Catharine, and 929 pins away from the No. 4 team."

Freshman Chelsey Stephens was the highest finishing Lady Tiger(25/126) in the singles sectional qualifier, finishing her six games with a total of 1132 pins. Kaylee Kaminski and Marissa Rehmet also placed, 116th and 119th respectively.
