PINEVILLE, Ky. -- A triple bogey on the 17th hole Tuesday might have been the difference separating Campbellsville University's Katie White from low medalist honors at the Union College Invitational. However, the senior still managed to remain below her first-round score of 80 on the final day of the tournament, firing off a 79 to finish tied for fourth with a 159. She was one of seven golfers named to the All-Tournament Team.
White's score helped Campbellsville shave off two points from its round one total and finish in a tie for fifth with Bryan College (Tenn.) at 708. Both teams followed up a 355 first round with a 353 in the second round.
Caitlyn Wilkerson followed White's lead with a 178 (90-88), while Kayla Kincer (94-91 - 185) and MeLeigha Pollock (91-95 - 186) followed not far behind. Annie Schakat shot 107 and 103 to finish with a two-day score of 210.
Savannah College of Art and Design Atlanta won the invitational with a two-day score of 642, including a tournament low of 318 in the final round Tuesday. SCAD Atlanta was led by three All-Tournament Team members: Ashley Madden (78-79 - 157), Michelle Madden (80-78 - 158) and Miko Dougherty (82-79 - 161).
Campbellsville will return to action Monday and Tuesday, April 15-16, at the Georgetown College Spring Tournament at the Cherry Blossom in Georgetown, Ky.
