SALEM, Ore. – Day one of the NAIA Men's Golf Championships revealed an elevated score for Scott Foster, as the Campbellsville University senior shot 7-over par to sit tied for 97th at Creekside Golf Club.

Round 1 Scorecard
Foster started on the back nine, bogeying four of his first nine holes. He proceeded to bogey three of the first six holes on the front before finishing par on holes seven, eight and nine.
"Scott had a tough day today. He played really well but just had some bad breaks," said Kenny Lawson, CU men's golf coach.
The Cincinnati, Ohio native will tee off at 8 a.m. PDT (11 a.m. EDT) for the second round of the tournament Wednesday. All 154 golfers will compete in the first three rounds, but only the Top 40 will advance to Friday's final round. Foster is currently three strokes out of the Top 40.
Foster is one of six Mid-South Conference golfers competing in the championship event after qualifying as the MSC Tournament champion. University of the Cumberlands qualified as a team and is tied for 13th among 28 teams. Hugo Alvarez Asorey leads Cumberlands with a 73 in the first round.
Oklahoma City's Anthony Marchesani leads the field at -4, while leading the Stars to first place after the opening round. The defending national champs shot -8 as a team in the opening round.
Only 12 of the 154 golfers shot under par with another 12 at even par.
