Lady Tigers finish in 5th at Bill Sergent Invitational

London, Ky. — Freshman Cassidy Scantland led the way again for women's golf, shooting a second-round 80 in the final round of the Bill Sergent Invitational at Crooked Creek Country Club.



 

That brought her to a two-day total of 154, allowing her to finish tied for fourth individually in her first collegiate tournament. Scantland also led the team in birdies for the day with two.

 

The team shot a total of 331 on day two. The team total of 659 was good enough for a fifth place finish, exactly where they were positioned after day one.

 

Olivia Parrott shot an 87 today bringing her total for the tournament to 168. Senior, Caitlyn Wilkerson had a two-day total of 168 as well after her second-day round of 82. Fellow senior Kayla Kincer shot an 82 also, bringing her total to 169. Ashley Goodin shot 93 today, giving her a two-day total of 181.

 

Team individuals, Grace Gupton and Anna-Marie Hyatt, fired an 86 and 83, respectively. Those scores gave Gupton a total of 169 and Hyatt a total of 170.

 

Taylor Gillis of the University of the Cumberlands B team won individual honors with a two-day total of 147 (73-74).

 

University of the Cumberlands A team won the team portion of the tournament with a two-day total of 615 (301-314).

 

The Lady Tigers will return to tournament play Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 23-24 in the Don Bishop Invitational at Campbellsville Country Club.
