BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Campbellsville Lady Tiger Volleyball won the first three matches over the weekend at Olivet Nazarene but fell to Cornerstone University in the final match of the Holiday Inn Classic.
Campbellsville opened up play on Saturday with a straight-set win against St. Ambrose University (25-12, 25-16, 25-18).
In the second match of the day, Campbellsville took on Cornerstone University. The Golden Eagles upset the Lady Tigers and improved to 9-8 on the season.
Campbellsville was 3-1 in the Holiday Inn Classic and will come home with a 9-2 record, 5-1 in the Mid-South Conference. This is the best start for CU since 2009 when the Lady Tigers started the season 11-2.
The Lady Tigers will travel to Bethel University on Sept. 24 and compete in their first tri-match of the season. They will face Freed-Hardeman at 4 p.m. and Bethel University at 6 p.m. in the second match of the evening.
Campbellsville does not return to the friendly confines of Powell Athletic Center until Oct. 1 when it plays host to 13th ranked Lindsey Wilson College at 7 p.m.
