Lady Tigers suffer two more losses in MIchigan

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Campbellsville went up against a couple of 20-win teams today on Day 2 of the Panther Invitational at Davenport University, suffering two three-set losses.

Viterbo and Trinity Christian were familiar foes, having beaten the Lady Tigers in three sets on separate weekends in Wisconsin and Illinois earlier in the season.

Viterbo (23-4) out-killed CU 46-27 and won 25-17, 25-18 and 25-15.

Campbellsville (7-20, 3-6 MSC) was led by Jade Nelson (8) and Rachel DeCoursey (7) in kills while Krista Mihelsone had 24 of the team's 26 assists.

Viterbo's Alicia Olson led everyone with 20 kills and 11 digs.

Trinity Christian (20-7) was actually out-killed 37-36 by the Lady Tigers, but CU made 32 attack errors — 20 more than its opponent — and that led to the 25-20, 25-15 and 25-19 losses.

CU (7-22, 3-6 MSC) was led by Brianna Harman's 11 kills on a .273 hitting percentage. Jana Kortas added nine kills. Mihelsone had 30 assists and Kortas was high in digs with eight.

Campbellsville will be back in action Thursday, Oct. 16 when it travels to Shawnee State for a MSC match. The Bears lead CU by two games in the standings. The Lady Tigers are tied with Cumberlands for fifth place.
