BARDSTOWN, Ky. — Lady Tiger golf fought through windy conditions during the first round of the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament Monday and sits in third place after round one at Maywood at Bardstown Country Club.

Anna Marie Hyatt led Campbellsville, firing a tournament-high four birdies to finish with a 79. She sits in third place behind University of the Cumberlands' Bri Tokariwski and Rachel Pengleton, who both shot 78.

Campbellsville (345) sits behind the Patriots (318) and Cumberland University (333) and is looking for revenge after early season defeats by both teams.

It is the second time the Patriots and Lady Tigers have squared off this season, as Cumberlands beat Campbellsville in UC's Bill Sergent Invitational at Crooked Creek Golf Community.

Cumberland University came from behind on day two to beat the Lady Tigers in the Campbellsville Invitational in September.

"We certainly did not play our best today," said CU head coach Kim Goodin. "Both University of the Cumberlands and Cumberland University feel the same way. The conditions were tough with the wind today, but we aren't making excuses. It will be a big step for us to make a run tomorrow at both of these conference rivals."

Olivia Parrott finished with an 83, sitting in a tie for ninth place. Parrott started strong on her front nine holes, shooting 37, but struggled coming in with four double bogeys.

Taylor Phelps sits in 23rd place with an 89. Mikayla Smith and Grace Gupton both shot 94 to round out the Lady Tigers.

Rival Lindsey Wilson College (350) trails Campbellsville by five strokes. CU beat the Blue Raiders earlier thhis season in the Presidents Cup.

University of Pikeville sits in fifth place, one stroke behind the Blue Raiders with a team score of 351. Asbury University sits in sixth place (356); Georgetown College, seventh (367); Emmanuel College, eighth (377) and the host St. Catharine College, sit in ninth (394).

Oakland City University had one of its four golfers withdraw due to injury and its team score was not counted.
