CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University pushed its way to back-to-back wins Thursday, beating Cumberland University in three sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-20). The win comes two days after the Lady Tigers' first win at home this season, a four-set victory over University of the Cumberlands (Ky.).

Jana Kortas and Aleksandra Popovic each collected six kills to pace CU in the first set and finished the night with a team-high 11 apiece. Kortas now has 30 kills on the week after collecting 19 in the four sets against Cumberlands (Ky.).

Campbellsville broke away from a 10-10 tie in the opening set to go on an 8-1 run, including two service aces by Krista Mihelsone. Kortas also had an ace in the set.

The Lady Tigers took advantage of a series of Bulldog attack errors in the second set to flip an 8-6 deficit into a 12-9 lead on an ace by Compeau. The freshman libero later added a second ace on set point, 25-20.

CU was dominant in its last set, starting with a 3-0 lead. Campbellsville had 10 kills in the set, including three tips by setter Jackie Swieger, two by Rachel DeCoursey in her return from injury, and two from both Jade Nelson and Kortas. Nelson finished the night with seven kills.

Schiweger had 27 assists in the win, while the defense was led by Hannah Best's 11 digs and 10 by Compeau.

Campbellsville (7-15, 3-4 MSC) will return to action Saturday for its third-straight Mid-South Conference home match, hosting Lindsey Wilson College at 1 p.m. EDT in Powell Athletic Center.
