CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University dropped its sixth Mid-South Conference match Tuesday night, falling in three sets to No. 19 Georgetown College (25-12, 25-21, 25-19) in Powell Athletic Center.

Jana Kortas led CU with 10 kills, followed by six and five from Jade Nelson and Brianna Harman, respectively.

Georgetown used consistent hitting from Lauren Schneidtmiller and Caraline Maher to collect 12 and 11 kills, respectively.

The visiting Tigers had little trouble in the 13-point, first set win.

Campbellsville battled point-for-point in the second set until Maher collected three kills in the last five points to force and then break a 20-20 tie. Schneidtmiller also had a kill to set up a set point error by CU. Georgetown took a 4-2 lead in the third set and held on for the 25-19 win.

Jackie Schwieger, Kortas and Hannah Best each had six digs to lead Campbellsville's defense. Jade Nelson had three solo blocks and one assisted block. Schwieger also had 23 assists.

Courtney Grafton led Georgetown's defense with 15 digs, while Stephanie Gurren had 34 assists. 

Campbellsville (7-16, 3-6 MSC) will travel to Grand Rapids, Mich., this weekend to compete in the Panther Invitational at Davenport University. The two-day, 12-team tournament will be played on three courts starting at 12 p.m. EDT Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. CU will play Saint Xavier at 4 p.m. and Olivet Nazarene University at 6 p.m. Friday, and then Viterbo at 10 a.m. and Trinity Christian at 12 p.m. Saturday.
