JAMESTOWN, Ky. — Campbellsville women's golf sits in fourth place after the first round of the Blue Raider Classic played at Lake Cumberland Golf Club Resort.
The five freshmen field for Campbellsville struggled in the opening round, finishing with a 368 total and 80 strokes over par (288).
Cassidy Scantland led the Lady Tigers finishing with an 88 (44-44) to sit in a tie for 11th place. The reigning Mid-South Conference Golfer of the Week finished with only one birdie on the afternoon. She led CU by shooting two over on the par fives.
Ashley Goodin sits in 16th place after a 91 (47-44). The freshman from Columbia, Ky. tied for the team lead in birdies with two on the afternoon, both on par fours, but struggled on the par three's shooting two over.
Olivia Parrot sits in 23rd place after a 94 (46-46). She tied Goodin, knocking in two birdies on par fours and also playing the par threes one under.
Anna-Marie Hyatt finished with a 95 (48-47) and Grace Gupton finished with a 97 (50-47) to round out the Lady Tigers in round one.
University of the Cumberlands leads the Blue Raider Classic after posting a 335 team score and its top four golfers finished in the top 10 in round one. Lindsey Wilson College sits in second place with a team score of 340, University of Pikeville, 352; Campbellsville University, 368; Cumberland University, 376; Asbury University, 391; Georgetown College, 404; St. Catharine College, 433.
UC's Bri-Anne Tokariwski is the individual leader after posting an eight over par, 80 (42-38). She and teammate Shannon Bishop were the only two golfers to post a nine-hole score in the 30s (38 and 39).
Round two will start approximately at 10 a.m. CT.
