CU track athletes compete at University of Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Six Campbellsville University track  & field athletes took on some of the best in the region Thursday through Saturday at the University of Tennessee Relays powered by Sea Ray.

 



Christiana Harris led the Lady Tigers with a season-best time of 15.14 seconds to finish 27th in the 100-meter hurdles. She dropped seven-tenths of a second offer her previous time and was only .05 shy of the NAIA B standard time to qualify for the NAIA national championships. Kelsey Feltner also posted a season-best time with a 12.68 in the 100-meter dash.

In addition to Harris and Feltner, senior Nathelie Zetrenne competed in the 400 hurdles and triple jump Friday. The trio teamed up with Hanako Abe to run the 4x100-meter relay on Saturday.

On the men's side, Demytreus Gipson ran collegiate personal records of 11.07 and 22.15 in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, respectively on Friday. Brett Pierce started the weekend for CU by competing in the 10K Thursday night.

CU will return to the track Friday, April 18 at the Centre College Twilight meet in Danville, Ky.
