BOURBONNAIS, ILL. — Campbellsville lost its edge in the third set of the final match at Olivet Nazarene, losing to the host club in five sets to close out the weekend 1-3.

The Lady Tigers (5-9, 1-3 MSC) never gained traction in the noon matchup against Trinity Christian, losing in straight sets.

CU was out-killed 41-29 and posted a team hitting percentage of .122.

Brooklyn Bowling led the team with nine kills. Jackie Schwieger had 22 assists and Marcella Compeau collected 11 digs. Compeau also had two service aces.

When the Lady Tigers review this loss they can start with the eight, set-four service errors that helped Olivet continue its momentum and a match-tying 25-23 win.

CU fell behind 6-1 in the fifth and could never get closer than two at 13-11.

Becky DeRuiter was the big thorn in the Lady Tigers' side with three big kills down the stretch and a match-high 17.

Campbellsville was cruising through sets one and two, leading 19-13 in set one and 19-12 in set two.

But the match flipped in the third as Olivet (3-15, 1-2) led all the way to 25-17 win. The Lady Tigers never recovered.

Brooklyn Bowling and Rachel DeCoursey led the team in kills with 13 and 11, respectively. Three players reached double figure digs with Marcella Compeau leading with 23 and DeCoursey and Jackie Schwieger with 13 and 11, respectively. Schwieger had 40 assists. Compeau and Bowling had three service aces apiece.

Campbellsville (5-10, 1-3 MSC) had 17 service errors to eight for Olivet Nazarene.

It's back into the Mid-South Conference frying pan for the Lady Tigers as they host St. Catharine on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 7:00 in Powell Athletic Center.
