Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Three goals in the first nine minutes of play locked up a 3-0 shutout victory for Campbellsville University over Georgetown College Monday night.Â
Junior forward Marcelo Petit scored all three goals, collecting an assist from Roraigh Yearwood in the fifth minute, an unassisted goal in the eight minute and one off an assist from Ross Lindsay in the ninth minute. The hat trick is Petit's second of the season. He now leads CU and the Mid-South Conference with 12 goals.
CU had a total of 10 shots on goal in the game, compared to five shots on target by Georgetown.Â
Josh Hollis collected all five saves in the shutout win to even his record at 3-3 on the year. Georgetown keeper Matthew Oster played the entire game and had seven saves.Â
The win extends Campbellsville's home win streak against Georgetown to eight games, including the last four on the Citizens Bank Field turf. The win also snaps a two-game losing skid for CU this season. Â
Campbellsville (7-3, 2-1 MSC) will travel to Lee University on Thursday for a non-conference game and rematch of the 2014 NCCAA Mid-East Region championship, which CU won 2-1. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
