Tigers show improvement on Bill Sergent second day

LONDON, Ky. – Campbellsville University improved by eight strokes Friday in the Bill Sergent Invitational final round at Crooked Creek Golf Community. The Tigers shot 314 as a team, led by Pierce Dahl's 75 to finish sixth overall and fifth among A teams.





Dahl's 75 moved him within a stroke of the team lead, shooting 157 (82-75) for the tournament. Dalton Olson shot 79 and 77 in the two days for a combined score of 156.

Michael Newton followed the duo with a two-day 159, shooting 77 on Friday. Tanner Hall and Wade Cave shot 85 and 89, respectively, on Friday to finish at 166 and 169.

Lindsey Wilson College won the tournament by 15 strokes, led by medalist Chris Butler, who shot 144 in the two days. Ross Nowe also shot 144 for LWC as an individual.

Union College and University of the Cumberlands tied for second shooting 599 as a team. Cumberlands' B team was fourth with a 605, followed by SCAD-Atlanta (610). Campbellsville shot 636 as a team, followed by Cumberlands' C Team (639), Brescia University (643), UVA-Wise (645), St. Catharine College (646) and Berea College (663).

CU will take a week off and then will host its annual fall tournament Sept. 22-23 at the Campbellsville Country Club.
