LONDON, Ky. – Campbellsville University women's golf finished runner-up in its first tournament of the fall season, the Bill Sergent Invitational at Crooked Creek Golf Community.
Â
"I'm really pleased with our performance. We talked about making up ground from the first day and we took 15 strokes off our first day total," said first-year coach Kim Goodin. "I'm also proud of how our kids are picking each other up. Anna Marie (Hyatt) led us this week, and we're proud of her as she made all tournament team.
Â
"Olivia (Parrott) and Cassidy (Scantland) were consistent and solid, but both would tell you they can play better. Ashley (Goodin) gave us a lift today coming back with the 76. Grace (Gupton) played solid as an individual and our freshmen, Rachel (Carter) and Taylor (Phelps) had ups and downs but isn't that what freshmen do? They will be tough as nails before this is over. It's a great day to be a Lady Tiger."

Anna Marie Hyatt was named to the All-Tournament team after shooting 75 on the second day to lead CU and finished sixth overall. Hyatt was 10-over par for the two days after shooting 81 during the first round. Her two-day score of 156 was only five strokes behind tournament medalist Bri-Ann Tokariwski from University of the Cumberlands.
Olivia Parrott followed Hyatt and shot 79 on both days to finish with a 158 and tied for seventh. Ashley Goodin improved on her 85 from the first round to shoot 76 on day two and finished 11th with a two-day score of 161. Cassidy Scantland shot 162 (81-81) in her first outing of the fall and was tied for 12th while Taylor Phelps shot 85 and 88 (173).
Cumberlands won the tournament by 20 strokes (617 to 637) over Campbellsville after shooting 303 on the final day. Lindsey Wilson College was third (648), SCAD-Atlanta was fourth (656) and Union (Ky.) was fifth (670). Indiana Wesleyan University (705), Brescia University (724) and Midway College (730) rounded out the scores.
CU will take a week off and then will host its annual fall tournament Sept. 22-23 at the Campbellsville Country Club.
