McKENZIE, Tenn. — It was another record-setting day, as Campbellsville steamrolled Bethel University Saturday afternoon, 69-21.
BOX SCORE
Campbellsville's 69 points broke a 15-year single-game scoring record set on Oct. 14, 2000 against Kentucky Wesleyan. Also, Tyus Alcorn snapped two more touchdown receptions records. He caught four TDs to break a single-game record held by three other players and his fourth TD catch of the day also broke the single-season all-time mark, which now stands at 13.
In addition to the total points and individual touchdowns, the Tigers lit up the scoreboard with 10 touchdowns for a team single-game record. Will Ward made nine PAT's, also a CU single-game record.
Campbellsville extends its record to 5-2 and 2-0 inside the Mid-South Conference West Division. The Tigers have won five games in a row for the first time since 1997 and now sit atop the MSC.
Bethel falls to 3-4 overall and 0-1 inside the MSC West.
It didn't take long for Campbellsville to set the tone. The Tigers scored 21 points before Bethel ever ran an offensive play. Jacob Russell found Alcorn for the first of three TDs between the two with a 37-yard touchdown, but then special teams gave CU all the momentum it would need to prevail.
Will Ward's kickoff was fumbled by Bethel and that turnover led the Tigers to another score – a one-yard rush from Russell. After another squib kick across the middle, CU was able to recover again, which led to the second Russell-Alcorn hookup — a 15-yard TD — and Campbellsville went ahead 21-0.
After the Tigers gave up the first Wildcat score, Tajh Milliken gave CU its best field position of the day with a 51-yard kickoff return to the Bethel 49. AJ Strong completed the four-play, 49-yard drive to vault CU ahead, 28-7, and that was all Campbellsville would need to win its fifth consecutive game.
The Tiger defense allowed Bethel to score only once in each of the first, second and third quarters and the Wildcats only accumulated 252 total yards of offense. Campbellsville scored on all three of the Wildcats turnovers and finished with 649 yards with a season-high 309 yards rushing. CU had a perfect split, five touchdowns on the ground and five through the air.
Russell finished with 238 yards and three touchdowns on 11-of-22 passing in only two quarters of play. Redshirt freshman Hunter Brown played the second half and threw for 102 yards on 6-of-9 passing and two touchdowns. Tajh Milliken also saw time at quarterback in the wildcat package and led CU to a score on an option play to Jarrod Harrington early in the third quarter.
Bryson Bell, Domonique Jenkins and Percy Minor led Campbellsville on the defensive side of the ball. The trio finished with six tackles, while Minor had an interception and Bell recording two sacks. Also, Elmer Barron had two sacks in the second half, while Beau Biller and Alex Franklin each registered one.
Campbellsville returns back to Tiger Town next Saturday, Oct. 24 with a MSC West Division matchup hosting Cumberland (Tenn.) (3-4, 0-1). The Tiger Tailgate Show starts at 6:30 and kickoff follows at 7 p.m. ET.
How the scoring went down from here:

• The Tigers opened the third quarter with a 12-yard rush from Jarrod Harrington to push the lead to 56-14.
• Harrington then scored his second TD on a 50-yard bomb from Brown. Brown finished hitting 6-of-9 passes for 102 yards and two TD's.
• Freshman Aiden Stewart-Hoskins scored his first career touchdown late in the third quarter on a two-yard rush up the middle to end the scoring for both teams.
