BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The final round of the MSC Fall Roundup at the Bowling Green Country Club was canceled today due to inclement weather, reducing the championship to 18 holes and thus declaring the Lady Tigers as runners-up.
The players did get in nine holes before the tournament was called, but those scores were washed out.
University of the Cumberlands won the event after firing an opening round 305, 13 strokes better than Campbellsville.
"It's tough to see six girls with no cart in a flood," said coach Kim Goodin. "We've accomplished a lot and broken records this fall. That will transfer into even more success next spring.
"Our number one goal is to win conference and go to nationals, which we are very capable of accomplishing."
Cassidy Scantland was named to the All-Tournament team by virtue of her top 5 finish. She was joined by Cumberland's Rachel Pingleton, Kaitlyn Riley and Candice Lindque and Lindsey Wilson's Cristina Jimenez.
Scantland was one shot out of first place after an opening round 76. She trailed Cumberlands' Kaitlyn Riley and Rachel Pingleton, both of whom shot 75. They were named co-medalists.
Kylie Withrow shot a 79, good for a sixth place tie, and Anna-Marie Hyatt is in a tie for eighth after an 80. Olivia Parrott closed out the scoring with an 83 and a tie for 13th. Playing as an individual, Ashley Goodin carded an 84 and a tie for 15th. Michaela Jarman is in 45th place after a 93.
