CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Lady Tiger Mhairi Fyfe kicked her way into the Campbellsville records books on Saturday night in a 3-1 win over University of Pikeville.Â
It didn't take long for Fyfe to become the most decorated player in program history. She scored on an assist from Rachel Veatch in the sixth minute for her 54th career goal, passing Jessica Ralph's record of 53 set from 2010-2013.
At that moment the clock stopped, as Fyfe ran over to celebrate with head coach, Thom Jones. Fyfe was then presented the game ball in front of all her teammates and fans.
Fyfe added on to her record in the 20th minute and Campbellsville (12-0, 4-0 MSC) took a 2-0 lead into halftime. The Lady Tigers dominated the first half with 11 shots compared to Pikeville's one.
The domination continued in the second half but Campbellsville could not make good of its shots on goal. Bryanna Schroers finished the night with nine saves for Pikeville (2-11, 0-5).
Fyfe was able to add on to the Lady Tiger lead with her sixth hat trick of her career in the 62nd minute. She now has 16 goals on the season to lead the Mid-South Conference.
CU slipped on the defensive end in the 65th minute with Pikeville's Macarena Acuna giving the Bears life. UPIKE finished with three shots total and CU's Amanda Howard did not record a save.
The Lady Tigers return to action Oct. 6 at Bethel University, kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET.
