INDIANPOLIS, Ind. — The excitement is in the air around Campbellsville University athletics. It's win or go home and Fighting Tiger football is looking to do something it hasn't done in history – win an NAIA playoff game on the road. The Tigers travel to Marian (Ind.) on Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. EST in the NAIA Football Championship Series First Round.
Fans can listen to the game live on the CU Sports Network, 88.7 The Tiger, with Jim Freeman and Matt Payton on the call. The Tiger Tailgate Show will start at 12:30 p.m. with Jordan Alves and Logan Johnson.Â

Campbellsville University student acitivities is showing the game live in the BASC Banquet Hall starting at 12:45 p.m. EST. All students and fans are welcome.
LOOKING AT THE MATCHUP
• Campbellsville (8-2, 5-0) and Marian (8-2, 5-1) are facing each other for the first time in history.
• CU is playing its third-straight team that is ranked inside the NAIA Top 8. The Tigers knocked off No. 8 Lindsey Wilson and then No. 7 Reinhardt to finish the season atop the MSC West standings and win back-to-back conference titles.
• Marian is the first at-large team in the 16-team field by finishing with a 5-1 record in the Mid-States Football Association Mideast Conference.
• The Tigers are 1-3 all-time in the NAIA playoffs – all three loses have come on the road.
• In every NAIA First Round appearance, CU has played a member of the Mid-States Football Mideast Conference. CU lost to Geneva 34-14 in 1997, beat St. Francis 42-21 in 2001 and then lost to Saint Xaiver last season, 38-35.
• Campbellsville is 6-17 all-time against MSFA teams, but 4-2 against current Mid-States programs.
• Marian is playing its sixth game against a ranked opponent this season and is 3-2 in the first five games.
• Campbellsville is playing its fifth ranked opponent and is 3-1.
• Two of the top receivers are being showcased today - Tyus Alcorn has caught a single-season record 19 touchdowns and ranks No. 2 in scoring per game with 12.7 points. He also ranks No. 3 in total scoring with 114 points. Marian's Krishawn Hogan ranks No. 1 in receiving yards per game at 122.5 and No. 2 in total receiving yards with 1,225.
• Two of the top quarterbacks are also dueling in the first round – Campbellsville's Jacob Russell has shattered every program record set to date and was named the Mid-South Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Year. He ranks No. 1 in passing yards per game (352.7), total offense (3,954), total offense per game (395.4), and total passing yards (3,546). Russell also ranks No. 5 in passing efficiency with a rating of 165.
• Marian's Hayden Northern ranks No. 5 in passing yards per game (291) and No. 6 in passing efficiency with a rating of 160.4.
• Campbellsville features the best all-purpose man in the nation. Jarrod Harrington ranks No. 1 in all-purpose yards (1,909) and all-purpose yards per game (190.9). He is also a threat on the offense, catching 78 passes this year which ranks him No. 2 in the country.Â

• Campbellsville is on an eight-game win streak – which ties the longest in history with the 1991 team.
• Campbellsville went a perfect 5-0 inside MSC West Division play – the first time in history.
• The Tigers have scored on their opening drive in every ball game but two this season.
• Saturday will mark the first time CU has ever played on Nov. 21.
• Saturday also marks the 301st game in Fighting Tiger football history – Kevin Burkhead has kept stats for every game dating back to the rebirth of the program.
• CU had a week off while other while playing for conference title last Saturday. Coming off bye weeks, CU boasts a 9-5 record.
