GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Campbellsville men's basketball could not complete the comeback over rival Georgetown, falling to the sixth-ranked Tigers, 92-91 at Davis-Reid Alumni Gymnasium.
The loss put the Tigers record at 5-1 and 1-1 inside Mid-South Conference play. CU will step away from conference play and travel to preseason No. 1 Dalton State (Ga.) on Tuesday, Nov. 24 with tipoff scheduled at 7 p.m. EST. Fans can listen live on the CU Sports Network.

Campbellsville came out firing in the second half, shooting 73 percent (24-of-33) including 8-of-13 from behind the 3-point line.
It wasn't enough, though, as Georgetown's Deondre McWhorter sank two free throws with 17 seconds to put the home Tigers ahead. With one final opportunity to pull the upset, Campbellsville's Ron Scott drove into the lane but Georgetown forced a turnover to seal the win.
Georgetown stays undefeated early in the season with a 7-0 record and 2-0 inside the Mid-South. The Tigers will host Morthland College on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
Freshman Hagen Tyler once again set a flame to the nets and finished with eight 3-point baskets and 26 points. He finished hitting 9-of-16 from the floor. Tyler missed his career-high by two points when he knocked down eight triples against Western Kentucky University exactly one week ago.
Dii'Jon Allen-Jordan recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 22 points and 12 rebounds. He was followed by 16 points from Scott and 14 from Elliott Young. Young helped the Tigers in the second half by knocking down three of this four 3-point baskets.
Even though Campbellsville hit 11-of-32 shots (34 percent) in the first half, the Tigers ended the game finished hitting 54 percent from the field (35-of-65) and 52 percent (14-of-27) from long range.
Georgetown was led by Tony Kimbro's 17 points. The Tigers had four others in double-figures with McWhorter and Noah Cottrill scoring 16 and Darion Burns and Troy Steward scoring 12 apiece.
Georgetown out-shot the Tigers in Maroon and Grey by hitting 6- percent (37-of-62).
Campbellsville came back from being down 49-31 at halftime. The Tigers went on a 30-14 run from the 14:51 mark in the second half to the 7:49 mark. CU cut the lead to two and forced Georgetown to call a timeout.
Campbellsville was able to take its first lead since early in the first half, 77-76, at the 6:15 mark and the game would stay close all the way to the end. In the final 3:54, there was four ties and six lead changes until Georgetown prevailed with free throws at the end.
CU finished hitting 50 percent (7-of-14) from the charity stripe with Georgetown hitting 61 percent (11-of-18). The home Tigers also had a 33-23 advantage on the boards, depsite Campbellsville coming up with 12 steals on the nights.
