Scantland and Lady Tigers finish third at MSC Spring

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — (RESULTS) For the second-straight tournament Campbellsville women finishes in third place in a golf tournament. The Lady Tigers improved after their first round 326 and shot 322 (648) in the final round of the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament.

Cassidy Scantland was tied for low round on the day with Wiebke Schlender from Indiana Tech and Bri-Ann Tokariwski from University of the Cumberlands.


Schlender and Tokariwski both fired identical 74-75 rounds at Stonecrest Golf Club. Schlender outlasted Tokariwski in the first playoff hole to earn medalist.

Scantland finished nine-strokes behind the top two with a two-day total of 158 (83-75) for her second-straight Top 5 finish after winning the SEKI Invite last week. Ashley Goodin stayed the course and fired 80-81 to finish tied for 10th. The duo led the Lady Tigers with 22 pars apiece in the two rounds combined. Tokariwski led the tournament with 23.

Anna-Marie Hyatt dropped off the pace with a second round 85. She was the low Lady Tiger after day one, shooting a 78. Hyatt finished tied for 13th with a two day total of 163.

Olivia Parrott (85-82) and Rachel Carter (85-84) rounded out the Lady Tigers and finished 18th and 20th, respectively.

"I was pleased with how we battled the conditions," said CU head coach Kim Goodin. "We have players come back from rough starts and finish strong. The main thing is we kept good attitudes the entire time."

Indiana Tech University won the tournament, firing a team total of 631 and University of the Cumberlands placed ahead of Campbellsville with a two-day score of 633.

Pikeville (677), Lindsey Wilson College (682), Cumberland University (683), St. Catharine College (688), Midway College (720), and Georgetown College (766) rounded out the team scores.

Campbellsville will now hit the links on Friday, April 3-4 at the Eastern Kentucky University Tournament at Arlington Country Club.

"This tournament at EKU will show us how we stack up against higher competition," said Goodin.
