Lady Tigers tie best round ever, lead by five at Windtree

MT. JULIET, Tenn. — (RESULTS) Campbellsville shot its lowest score of the season (305) today and is the round-one leader at the Cumberland University Bulldog Tournament at the Windtree Golf Course.

The 305 ties the lowest team score ever posted by Lady Tiger Golf. They also posted a 305 at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Championship in 2013.


The Lady Tigers lead Indian Tech by five shots and host Cumberland University by 10 in the seven-team field.

Cassidy Scantland, a sophomore from Greensburg, Ky., fired a season-low 70 to lead all individuals. Her two-under-par round included four birdies, 12 pars and two bogeys.

She leads Indiana Tech's Wiebke Schlender by three shots.

Sophomores Olivia Parrott, Anna-Marie Hyatt and Ashley Goodin shot 76, 79 and 80, respectively to complete the team scoring. Freshman Rachel Carter carded an 81 and senior Mikayla Smith was low among individuals participating with an 82.

Parrott's round places her in a tie for fourth. Hyatt and Goodin are tied for 12th and 16th, respectively. Carter's 81 has her sitting in 21st place out of the 42 golfers.

As a team, Campbellsville led round one with 12 birdies.

After tomorrow's second round, the Lady Tigers are scheduled to be in Bardstown, Ky. for the Mid-South Conference Championship Sunday-Tuesday, April 19-21 at the Maywood Country Club.

STANDINGS: Campbellsville, 305; Indiana Tech, 310; Cumberland, 315; Freed-Hardeman, 318; Lindsey Wilson, 323; Union University, 326; and Trevecca Nazarene, 378.
