MT. JULIET, Tenn. — (RESULTS) Campbellsville validated its best round of the season with its best round in program history today and won the Cumberland University Bulldog Invitational at Windtree Golf Course.
The Lady Tigers beat their day-one score by four strokes, firing a 301 and beating second-place Indiana Tech by five shots.
"I'm so incredibly proud and humbled. These young ladies stayed focused and finished what they started," said coach Kim Goodin. "We fought the entire way and hung with tough competition. This is good momentum for our conference tournament next week."
Cassidy Scantland won her second tournament of the spring with a second-day 71 and a three-under-par 141 over the two-day tourney, collecting medalist and All-Tournament honors. It is the eighth tournament win for Scantland in her first two seasons as a Lady Tiger.
Scantland was supported by Anna-Marie Hyatt, 155 (79-76); Rachel Carter, 157 (81-76); and 158s by Olivia Parrott (76-82) and Ashley Goodin (80-78). Mikayla Smith, playing as an individual, shot a second-round 81 for a 163 total.
The Lady Tigers are scheduled to be in Bardstown, Ky. for the Mid-South Conference Championship Sunday-Tuesday, April 19-21 at the Maywood Country Club.
