Scantland's three round total of 250 misses cut at NAIA

POOLER, Ga. —(RESULTS) Cassidy Scantland bounced back in the third round of the NAIA Women's Golf Championship with a five-over par, 77, but her first two rounds kept her from making the cut - finishing with a three round total of 250.

The top 40 individuals and 17 teams (with ties) are the only ones remaining in the NAIA Championship that concludes today at Savannah Quarters Country Club.

Scantland ended 2015 on a bright note in the third round and delivered a first nine, one-under. After starting her round on the back nine and bogeying hole No. 10, Scantland recovered and came right back with two birdies and six pars.

The front nine wasn't as friendly, though, as Scantland was unable to record a birdie. The final nine holes of her season saw six bogeys and three pars.

Scantland, who made her second consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearance, finished 2015 with two tournament wins – the SEKI Invitational at StoneCrest Golf Club and the Cumberland Bulldog Invite at Windtree Golf Club. The two wins in her sophomore campaign adds to her school-record of now eight career victories.

Mid-South Conference foe University of the Cumberlands sits in a tie for first place behind Northwood University. The Patriots and Seahawks are tied at 915 through three rounds.

Julia McQuilken of Dalton State leads the individual tournament with a three round total of 215 – 74, 70 and 71.
