CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Hagen Tyler sparked Campbellsville with six 3-pointers and scored 27 points while helping the 18th-ranked Tigers to an 84-72 win tonight over Shawnee State University.

Tyler's 27 points was backed up by Sekou Harris' 15, Dii'jon Allen-Jordan's 14 and Ron Scott's 10. Scott also finished with 10 rebounds to secure his second double-double of the season – the first coming against Wilmington on Jan. 4.

Campbellsville (18-5, 5-4 MSC) shot the lights out from 3, hitting 45 percent (12-of-27), while six Tigers had at least one triple. Shawnee State (10-10, 4-4 MSC) struggled from deep, hitting only 31 percent (9-of-29) in the loss.

With the victory, the Tigers move into fifth place in the Mid-South Conference standings with seven games remaining. University of Pikeville and Georgetown lead the MSC with 6-2 conference records and Campbellsville welcomes the fifth-ranked Georgetown into Powell Athletic Center to end a six-game home stretch on Saturday with tipoff at 4 p.m. ET.

The biggest spark of the night came from the freshman Tyler. Shawnee State gave Campbellsville a bit of its own medicine and did something the Tigers have been known for doing since December. The Bears got hot at the beginning of the second half, going on a 14-4 run and cutting the Tigers' lead to four, 51-46.

But then it became the Hagen Tyler show. Tyler put his last three games behind him and nailed four-straight 3-point baskets to push the lead to double figures, 60-50 with 11:32 remaining.

The Bears would not go away, though. From the 11:32 mark to 6:04 left in regulation, Shawnee State went on a 14-4 run and cut Campbellsville's lead to as little as two – the smallest lead since the Tigers held a margin of 29-28 with 3:39 left in the first half.

But once again, it was the 3-point shot that Campbellsville needed — and it got. Harris hit two free throws and then Junior Elliott Young drilled his second triple to push the lead to seven, 70-63. Young finished with eight points off the CU bench.

The Bears dominated the bench scoring, pushing out 28 points compared to only 15 for CU.

Shawnee State answered with a 3 of its own, from Conor Markins, to cut the lead to four – but that was as close as the Bears would get. Ethan Moffatt led the Bears with 14 points, while Devon Carter scored 11 and Nick Tingle scored 10.

Even though Campbellsville held on late – the Tigers once again did not hit a field goal in the final 3:07 of play. During that stretch, CU was able to knock down 10-of-15 from the free throw line to seal the victory.

The Tigers finished hitting 70 percent (26-of-37) from the charity stripe, compared to 90 percent from the Bears. Shawnee State hit 9-of-10.

Tonight's game was part of the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers initiative around college basketball. Coaches from each team sported the sneakers under their suits tonight and will also do it again on Saturday when Georgetown College comes to Tigers Town.
