McDERMOTT, Ohio — Tiger golf picked up their second win of the season on Tuesday, winning the Shawnee State University Fall Invitational.
The Tigers fired 287-296 in the two-day tournament to run away with the win by 27 strokes. Host Shawnee State finished in second with a team score of 610.
Justin Warman backed up his first round 70 with a second round 74 to place solo second.
James Higgins shot the second-lowest round of the day for CU, firing a one-over 73 to finish tied for third.
Tristan Blevins and
Tyler Harrod shot 74 and 75 to finish tied for sixth and 10
th, respectively. The last Tiger in the Top 5 was
Seito Miyazaki falling down the leaderboard after a second round 83.
Javin Thomas, a freshman from Elizabethtown, Ky., fired the low-round of the day with a two-under 70. He improved seven strokes after Day 1 to finish in solo eighth.
Dgan Abdon from Shawnee State went wire-to-wire for the win with both rounds under par – 68 and 71.
Campbellsville will now have a week to prepare for the NCCAA National Championship hosted at The Hombre in Panama City, Fla. CU flies out of Bowling Green on Saturday, Oct. 22 with the first round scheduled for Monday, Oct. 24.
