Tigers, Bryan College play to scoreless tie in a Top-15 matchup

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The match couldn't have been any closer as No. 7 Campbellsville and No. 11 Bryan College played to a 0-0 draw tonight at Finley Stadium.

Nearly every statistical category was as close as the score during the Top-15 match. Gonzolo Sapena (2) and Alex Horton (1) saved the only shots on frame to close the door on any scoring.

CU (10-0-2, 3-0-1 MSC) got the better of Bryan (15-11) in the shots department, picking up all four shots delivered in the second overtime period. The Tigers outshot Bryan 5-1 in both overtimes as the two teams each had 10 shots in regulation.

Campbellsville could not convert on any of its five corner kicks and Bryan was blanked on the four it was awarded.

Yudai Yamauchi was fouled just outside the 18-yard box with under two minutes to play, but a wall of Lions blocked Ross Lindsay's shot. The Tigers got shots off by Alex Higdon and Pak Hei Chan with under a minute to play, but both balls sailed high.

Chan led the 15-shot attack with three. Nathan Heath, Lucas Freitas and Lindsay all had two apiece.

Charlie Clarke led Bryan (12-0-3, 5-0-1 ACC) with four shots

Campbellsville will now hit the road for University of Pikeville on Saturday, Oct. 22 for a 2 p.m. match.
