PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. — For the second straight season, Lady Tiger golf finished runner-up at the NCCAA National Championship at The Hombre, while seniors
Anna-Marie Hyatt and
Cassidy Scantland were joined by sophomore
Kylie Withrow earning NCCAA All-American honors.
Campbellsville shot team scores of 328-307-333 to finish in second place by 44 strokes. Dallas Baptist ran away with the title after firing scores of 308-301-306.
Hyatt led the way for Campbellsville finishing in solo third place shooting 82-75-75. In the third round, Hyatt fell victim to three front-nine bogeys but rallied on the front with three birdies. She ended up doubling the ninth hole (her 18
th) to finish at three-over 75.
Scantland fell back on Day 3 with scores of 84-72-82. Scantland was only able to roll in one birdie through her round and finished with double bogeys on the sixth, seventh and 18
th holes. She finished in solo seventh.
Withrow dropped back on Day 3 as well, finishing with scores of 79-79-87 to sit in ninth place.
Rounding out the Lady Tigers were sophomore
Michaela Jarman and senior
Ashley Goodin. Jarman shot 83-80-89 to finish tied for 13
th while Goodin finished tied for 17
th with scores of 84-82-91.
Ann Parmerter from Dallas Baptist went wire-to-wire for the national championship. She shot rounds out 73-71-73 to finish 13 strokes ahead of her teammate Sarah Kim. Kim was in the hunt after the first two rounds of 73-74 but fell back big time today with an 11-over 83.
The national championship concludes the fall season for the Lady Tigers. Campbellsville is scheduled to play in the Georgetown College Invitational on Feb. 20-21 in St. Augustine, Fla. at The Slammer and the Squire.
